Heard about Cafe Gabbiano's, had to try it for myself.  A total first class dining expirience all the way around ... first class service, affordable prices, Italian atmosphere, Inside/outside seating options, great Italian wine list and a pounded out veal parmesnana that was out of this world ... best I have ever had, anywhere (including mom's)!  I would consider flying down from Ohio just to dine at Gabbiano's again. Thanks Peter and Susan!.

My wife and I have been to Cafe Gabbiano many times. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is delightful. We have occasionally had a problem with the service, however. Once it was so slow that I thought we would be having breakfast before we got our dinner. On another occasion we got our food before we finished our salad. Aside from these occasional rough spots, the food can't be beat. Try the Grouper Capri, it’s out of this world! The veal dishes are also excellent. If you don't see it on the menu, ask. They can usually make this wonderful fish dish or any veal dish for you. I don't know why they don't put the Grouper Capri on their regular menu. They advertise that their veal is cut on the premises and I believe them. It is always tender and cooked to perfection. This is a must try restaurant if you are in Sarasota.

Excellent!! We went two of our five nights on vacation. I have over ten years in the restaurant business and have not found service like this anywhere. It was attentive without being pretentious. The food was fabulous and fairly priced and the atmosphere was just what we wanted on vacation -- very relaxed. It’s a reason to go back to Siesta Key.

Cafe Gabbiano is the closest ticket locally to southern Italy for an authentic dining experience as well as a charming setting. The veal Mamma Lucia is a tasty work of art prepared to perfection. It is sautéed in a marsala wine with wild mushrooms and garnished with a slice of eggplant and home made mozzarella cheese.
Pietro Migliaccio and his entire staff pride themselves in the presentation of all their superb dishes. Ischia, an island off the west coast of Italy has a distinct flavor of its own, that of a lighter and tastier fare.
The menu is extensive with a wide appeal to the palette.
Cafe Gabbiano offers an extensive wine list of over 100 wines from the regions of Italy. Selections include Amarone, Rosso Conero, Barolo, Brunello, and Tignanello to name a few from their very impressive wine list.
The entire staff treats its guest as family.
Cafe Gabbiano is an all-encompassing experience for a delightful evening of indoor and outdoor dining, live music, wine and ultimate charm all compliments of its gracious owner, Pietro Migliaccio.
Siesta Key beach is a well known landmark in Sarasota. I will add to it another euphoric destination, Cafe Gabbiano, a treasure only to be found in the village of Siesta Key.

We discovered this little Italian restaurant in the Siesta Village on Siesta Key just outside of Sarasota sometime in the early part of 2005. It has been our favorite ever since. Each time we return the experience is exactly the same, excellent! We have referred many of our friends to this wonderful place and they all agree it is one of the best Italian dinners they have had in a long time. We will do our part to see to it this place remains here for a long time. Our favorite meal is of course the Veal Picata but we have tried many other things on the menu and all are on par with the Veal. They also have an extensive wine list and cover almost any taste.

Cafe Gabbiano is a delightful experience. The atmosphere is homey with family pictures gracing the walls. The owners are warm and welcoming. The service is excellent. From appetizer to dessert, the food is simple yet elegant and absolutely delicious!!! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who knows Italian food and anyone who doesn't. You can't go wrong.
