Here's What Sarasota Diners Are Saying

Extremely slow, indifferent service (off-peak hours for lunch). We've tried it twice but won't return. Restaurant ambience was nice, food mediocre but acceptable, however service was downright irritating. The waitress (different waitress each time) simply disappeared. The last time we dined, my husband actually had to search her out for our bill.

For such a fine named restaurant we were so surprised the dining room had loud "bar" music. My husband loved the crab cakes. Best ever! My chicken, cheese, nut salad was a total disappointment. They used deli meat for the chicken. This is very risky as most lunch meat has MSG and a lot of people are allergic to MSG including myself. I did not send my salad back but have told all our friends not to order it.

We have been to Sam Snead's many times for lunch and for dinner. There has never been a time we have had any complaints regarding the food, service or music. The cheesy nut chicken salad I had yesterday was outstanding. The chicken in this dish was and always has been real chicken, not any cold cut meat. The blackened grouper sandwich was outstanding as is most of the items we have ordered in the past. The staff is very courteous and pleasant and very attentive to the needs of the diners. I recommend this restaurant to my friends, family and people I meet looking for a restaurant to dine at with no hesitation whatsoever.

COMMENTS:

Located in the hoppin' Hillview area, Sam Snead's is a casual dining establishment set among the trendier places on the street.

Good food coupled with excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere make Sam Snead's a good choice for after any occasion when you just want to go out and have a no hassle reasonably priced meal.

For lunch sit in the tavern area and catch up on all the news and sports happenings on TV sets located behind the bar.
