Its not easy to create a restaurant that both locals and visitors will love.
Theres something about new. The new car smell. New, never worn clothes. The feeling of new. Its knowing that youve never experienced this EXACT thing before. Thats what new is all about. Anticipation, surprise (maybe good, maybe less than good) and the promise of something a little different. New.
Restaurants open around this town all the time. Thats nothing new. But, a Sarasota hotel landmark opening a local restaurant. That IS new.
Let me be one of the first to introduce you to Jack Dusty.
Well, thats what it will look like when they open their doors in late January 2013. This is what it looks like now.

Vernona is gone. Completely gone. And, in its place, or more accurately in its space, is the brand new, Jack Dusty. This is not a restaurant re-do. This is restaurant reinvention. The folks at the Sarasota Ritz-Carlton, started with a blank canvas and are creating an approachable work of culinary art that the whole community will love.
What is Jack Dusty? Well, I’ll tell you what it isnt. Its not your run of the mill, standard hotel restaurant. Jack Dusty strives to bring a local, upscale dining experience and feel inside the doors of the Sarasota Ritz-Carlton. Serving an American seafood menu, the restaurant is sure to attract a loyal local following. This place is going to leave its unique stamp on our Sarasota dining scene.
